چکیده

Abstract Voltage instability is a serious phenomenon that can occur in power system because of critical or stressed conditions. To prevent voltage collapse caused by such instability, accurate prediction necessary for planning and operation. This paper proposes novel index ( NCPI ) to assess the stability conditions lines. The effectiveness applicability proposed are investigated on IEEE 30-bus 118-bus systems compared with well-known existing indices L mn , FVSI LQP NLSI VSLI under several operations validate its practicability versatility. study also presents sensitivity assumptions analyzes their impact prediction. application results intensive case studies prove adapts operating show superiority accurately estimating maximum load-ability predicting lines, weak buses, areas medium large networks during various load contingencies. A line interruption generation unit outage lead collapse, this contingency system. Line contingencies examined identify lines generators significantly event an outage. ranked most severe outages cause generator.

Simulation technique for voltage stability Analysis and contingency ranking in power systems

Voltage instability is one phenomenon that could happen in power system due to its stressed condition. The result would be the occurrence of voltage collapse which leads to total blackout to the whole system. Therefore voltage collapse prediction is important in power system planning and operation. Line outage in power system could also lead to the event of voltage collapse which implies the co...

A Novel Line Stability Index (NLSI) for Voltage Stability Assessment of Power Systems

The management of power systems has become more difficult than earlier because power systems are operated closer to security limits, environmental constraints restrict the expansion of transmission network, the need for long distance power transfer has increased and fewer operators are engaged in the supervision and operation of power systems. Voltage stability has become a major concern in man...

Fast Voltage and Power Flow Contingency Ranking Using Enhanced Radial Basis Function Neural Network

Deregulation of power system in recent years has changed static security assessment to the major concerns for which fast and accurate evaluation methodology is needed. Contingencies related to voltage violations and power line overloading have been responsible for power system collapse. This paper presents an enhanced radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) approach for on-line ranking of ...
